I am sure you have also seen those memes about asking ChatGPT to come up with baby names while in the hospital. Our essence is being lost in convenience, in speed. It seems reasoning or just thinking in general has become a difficult task; we are now defined by algorithms.

Think about it, you don’t have to think hard about what to watch on YouTube when the options that best suit you, or best define you, have been laid out before you on a screen, and you just have to pick what sounds more enticing to you.

There’s no sense of exploration or inner assessment. We let everything else think for us, from full school assignments to simple everyday decisions. Sometimes we even seek reassurance from others within our circles, even for the smallest choice. It is crazy, isn’t it? We are living in strange times, but we don’t even notice it.
