Schools should allow AI; you heard me right. The days of searching for solutions that already exist are over. “AI is the future,” they said. “Technology makes life easier,” they said. But being used in our schools seems like a stretch? Okay!
AI, a no-go zone
Many schools and parents assume that AI will lead children to laziness, distractions, weaken critical thinking, and encourage cheating; these are all valid issues, I must say, but just like how our traditional ways of education were introduced, they also were proven to have their own setbacks, like being irrelevant, obsolete, and backwards thinking. And with all that, the system was enforced, so likewise, schools should do the same.
AI, the solution
We need forward-thinking innovators, mavericks, and a tech-savvy generation. Let’s make this happen, where schools, parents, children, and AI can align. This can be made possible by assessing our strengths and weaknesses, minimising the ambiguity, enforcing regulations on AI, encouraging creative thinking, cracking down on cheating, and educating one another.

Countries like China have already shown us it’s possible, and it’s not a surprise that China is the nation that it is today, and China is leaving many of us behind and out of the loop. But the future is bright; the AI boom has hit us all at a rapid pace and bit by bit. Soon, AI will be part of our schools, as this is where the future is heading. The traditional ways of our parents, which were to become doctors, lawyers, and engineers, are in the rearview; let’s look forward to what can become of us.
